Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order #2023-4 created the “Growing Michigan Together Council” in the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity because Michigan is losing population and may soon drop another seat in the House of Representatives. Her order states: “Children playing with blocks today will be the workers, designers, and engineers of tomorrow, building bridges and defining the skylines of cities right here in Michigan.”
Children? Where do they come from we must wonder? Surely our “abortion by any means, at any time” governor must know that a fertilized human egg becomes a zygote which becomes a fetus which becomes a child playing with blocks because she believes in SCIENCE as was in evidence during the Covid lockdowns a few years ago. Perhaps the out-of-state women who are being encouraged to come to Michigan to have abortions will hang around and boost our census numbers? Maybe promoting illegal immigration is the answer? Maybe calling abortion a “life-saving procedure” is the governor’s way of convincing us that down is really up?
No, the most non-hypocritical way to “Grow Michigan” is to encourage and support traditional two parent families, provide funding for pregnancy resource centers (the governor vetoed that 2 years ago), and to let the babies be born so that they can become those children playing with blocks.
Finally, be aware that there is legislation pending that will legalize assisted suicide in Michigan. This, too, is supported by our governor and by her minions who now control the legislature. How can killing Michiganders at either end of life’s spectrum boost our sagging population?
