President of Van Buren County Right to Life

As we start the new year, Van Buren County Right to Life begins its annual membership renewal drive. Now more than ever, we need participation from all pro-lifers in the county. This year is an election year … not just for president, but for candidates all down the ballot: US Senate, the House of Representatives, the Michigan House, and more local races. Pro-lifers need to support candidates who will defend the right to life of all people – from conception to natural death.

The races for the Michigan House are vital. Right now pro0abortion lawmakers control the House 56 to 54. If we can flip just two House seats this November (I hope for a lot more than that!), we can control the chamber and deny Governor Whitmer’s ability to pass more pro-abortion legislation. One local House seat (the 38th) needs our attention. This district hugs the Lake Michigan shore from Saugatuck in the north to New Buffalo in the south. We lost this race in 2022 by a mere 497 votes. We need a pro-lifer to win back this seat in November!

All of us are members of various groups or associations. We are members of biological families. We show loyalty and love to our family members. They are ours to cherish. We are members of local churches. We are members of God’s family, the household of faith. We are members of communities, whether large or small. We take ownership of making sure our town or city is a safe place to raise a family. Lastly, we are members of the pro-life movement. We support and defend those who cannot speak for themselves – the innocent unborn babies.

Education is our best tool to change hearts and minds. Science tells us that life begins at conception. DNA is present at the moment of fertilization. An ultrasound is like a snapshot – a moment in time in the life of a baby. What more do we need to prove the humanity of the baby in the womb?

Please consider renewing your membership or becoming a member of Van Buren County RTL. Do it today!

Sincerely,

Rob Karrer, President of Van Buren County Right to Life
